Square TA05 Hop-ups

Yesterday, I installed some hop-ups on my Square TA05. I switched out the bushings in the steering arms for a nice set of ball bearings and also added some 5mm shims to eliminate play on the posts. While I had the upper deck removed I sealed it with CA glue. Bearings installed: Continue

Square TA05 - Initial Impressions

I haven't spent too much time behind the wheel of this conversion yet, but it already (with very little tuning) feels as good as, if not better than, my main TA05 drifter. Here are some of my first impressions:
  • The chassis has plenty of steering without feeling like it's oversteering (I'm not really sure if that makes sense). It doesn't need a lot of steering input to initiate drifts, and once you set your angle it's happy to stay pointing where you want it.

There is still a tiny bit of flex that comes from the center of the chassis, but the rear is now significantly stiffer than before.
Included parts:

TA05-IFS Build - Part 3

I finished the chassis last night. To complete it I installed a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor, Tamiya TEU-101BK ESC, Futaba R153F receiver, Futaba S3004 servo, and Speedway PAL D9 wheels (7mm offset) with ABS. All there's left to do is finish up the body...
The completed chassis:

You don't have to think about it for long, it's for ten year-olds.

Like I said, I never thought about Pokemon for too long.

Seeing how you have that Square conversion driving good, I think it needs a proper body. How about letting me revamp the Soarer.

I realized recently that Ash's last name is a pun. Wow that took awhile. I guess I never really analyzed the importance and deeper meanings of Pokemon.
